How to Apply to Patient Welfare

Patients who find that they are unable to pay the full cost of the Hospital's inpatient or outpatient services, may request the Financial Counselors or Patient Welfare Officers for welfare assistance before availing the Hospital's service, to meet the cost of their treatment. The patient or their immediate relative will be interviewed and if the family's socio-economic profile is found to meet the Hospital's Welfare Criteria, and budget is available, they will be assisted in their treatment cost provided the patient meets all conditions spelled out earlier. However, in a life threatening situation , the patient may be admitted first and the request for welfare assistance may be made by the attendant/guarantor immediately after the admission .

The Financial Counselors and the Patient Welfare offices are located in the Patient Business Services Area , AKUH.​
