At Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, our recently renovated in-patient Children's Ward is the focal point for high-quality, personalized medical services for children who require round-the-clock care.
The Children's Ward is designed for children up to 15 years, or up to 18 years if specialty paediatric follow-up care is required. This spacious in-patient wing has both general ward beds and private rooms, each of which opens out onto the lush Watoto Garden play area. Resident doctors and nurses staff the ward 24 hours a day, and a paediatric consultant is always on-call.
We also know that having loved ones close by is central to your child's recovery. In order to ensure that you and your family members are able to continuously provide the support and comfort your child needs, the Children's Ward also provides beds for parents or guardians who wish to remain overnight.
The services provided in the Children's Ward include:
- 24 hour nursing care
- 24 hour on-call ward doctor
- Daily visits by a team of house officers, peadiatricians and specialists as required
