The Department of Family Medicine at the Aga Khan University Hospital promotes primary health care by offering high quality and cost-effective preventative, curative, and rehabilitative services.
Our doctors at the Family Medicine clinics are highly experienced, trained and certified as Family Medicine Physicians. They are skilled in treating people of all ages from young babies and children to adults and the elderly. They provide personal, compassionate, and comprehensive health care during times of sickness as well as in good health. The focus of Family Medicine is overall health, well-being, and health maintenance.
Our Department of Family Medicine offers a range of wellness checks for both men and women. Some of these include but are not limited to, family planning; well-baby clinics; immunizations for children and adults; counselling for self-relaxation, stress management and pain management; pre-employment and annual check-ups; medical care for corporate executives; health insurance examinations; pre-immigration medicals; care for the terminally ill; geriatric clinics for the elderly.
Patients can take advantage of the health packages offered by Family Medicine, which are designed to meet the needs of patients depending on their age, health, medical history and lifestyle. These packages include but are not limited to, the Executive Clinic, Women's Health, Men's Health, Over, 50 years and Pre-Marital Screening.
Our Family Medicine doctors can be visited at multiple outpatient locations:
- Community Health Centre (CHC) offering clinics at highly subsidised rates at the Main Hospital Campus
- Consulting Clinics (CC) and Executive Clinics at the Main Hospital Campus and at Clifton Medical Services
- Consulting Clinics (CC) at our four Secondary Hospitals
- Consulting Clinics at our Outreach Medical Centres
Our doctors can visit you at your corporate offices, schools and colleges by special arrangements and agreements.
Keeping in line with the hospital's guiding principles of making quality healthcare accessible to all people, our Community Health Centre (CHC) and some Outreach Medical Centres make it possible for patients to see our doctors at highly subsidized rates.
The Executive Clinics are designed for those patients who lead busy and hectic lives, where time is of the essence, and prompt, efficient and packaged service is required. Family Medicine also offers specialized services to corporate clients who can be seen 24/7 at their office or home location. In addition, wellness packages can be made available to corporates, schools and colleges. Our doctors can visit you at your corporate offices, schools and colleges by special arrangements and agreements
The Family Medicine doctor is usually the primary and central point person for managing an individual's health. At the Aga Khan University Hospital, we have multiple specialities all under one roof. This enables our Family Medicine department doctors to routinely work closely with other specialities within the hospital. When necessary, your Family Medicine doctor can refer you to a specific specialist doctor. In turn, this ensures a coordinated and multidisciplinary approach for all our patients.
