The Aga Khan Hospital for Women, Karimabad was established in 1979 as a Maternity Home. The hospital was integrated with the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) in 2010 with the intent to make a high quality based integrated health system available to more patients in the different areas of Karachi. Today it is an ISO 9001:2015 certified community hospital providing safe and quality medical care for women and children in the hospital and the entire family in our visiting clinics. Under this set up, patients can benefit as referral to our other doctors, hospitals, medical and diagnostic centres in an easy and seamless process.
The Hospital is prominently located near Ayesha Manzil, at the junction of Shaharah-e-Pakistan, in Karachi. Both, patient clinic rooms (outpatients) as well as wards for admitted patients (inpatients) can be found in the main Hospital Building.
Our teams of highly qualified, trained and experienced doctors, nurses, technicians and administrative staff is equipped to provide compassionate care, diagnosis and treatment for expecting mothers, manage labour and delivery, as well as deal with women’s health and children’s health issues (inpatients). Our services are advanced, safe and effective. We have medical and general surgical facilities that support normal, painless normal, instrumental and caesarean section deliveries. Our visiting clinics (outpatients) are offered in multiple specialties and are available for men, women and children of all ages, who wish to see a consultant doctor for a general or specific illness.
The hospital has a central pharmacy that supplies quality medicines, as well as diagnostic and laboratory facilities that offer services to all patients, including those that are admitted and those visiting our clinics.
The Aga Khan Hospital for Women, Karimabad has a 24/7 Urgent Care Service for pregnant mothers, women and children. We go to great lengths to ensure our medical care meets international standards and we make patient safety and satisfaction a priority. In addition, we offer our medical services to patients at subsidized rates. And for those patients who really cannot pay and are eligible, can receive welfare support or assistance from the Zakat program, which is in place to ensure that our quality services are accessible to all members of society irrespective of race, religion or background.
