The Aga
Khan Hospital for Women and Children, Kharadar
Welcome to The Aga Khan Hospital for Women and Children, Kharadar (AKHW&C) site.
The Aga Khan Secondary Hospital, Kharadar (AKHW&C) was inaugrated in 1924 as the Janbai Maternity Home. The hospital’s legal integration with the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) took place in 2010. The purpose was to create a high quality setup that would enable people from various areas of Karachi to get quality care services. The Hospital is certified by ISO 9001:2015, and ensures that quality care in safe environment is made available to people at the hospital. This setup also supports the system of referrals to main campus, medical centres and diagnostic centres.
The hospital is in a historic building, located in the densely populated area of old Karachi near the Karachi port, fondly referred to as the Janbai Maternity Home. It is comprised of two campuses across from each other separated by a single road: (i) Janbai Building where the general patient wards, private rooms, operating rooms, diagnostics and pharmacy can be found (inpatients) (ii) The Aga Khan Diagnostic Centre where the clinics, laboratory and diagnostics for visiting patients (outpatients) is located.
We have with us qualified teams of physicians, technicians, nurses and administrative staff who are well skilled to offer best of our services to expecting mothers, facilitate them in labour and delivery and treat other health problems of women and children (inpatient). We offer care and treatment that supports normal, instrumental and c-section deliveries.
We offer extensive services for women and child health. However, we have a multi-specialty setup for the consultation for men, women and children of all age groups. In addition to this we also have on campus pharmacy, laboratory and diagnostic services.
