Bladder Dysfunction

Book Appointment

Bladder dysfunction is the result of uncontrolled activity in the muscles responsible for retaining/emptying the bladder. This leads to uncontrolled bowel movement and uncontrolled urination.

Bladder dysfunction is usually caused by problems in the nervous system or the muscles controlling the bladder and bowel movement. The signals sent by the brain to relax or contract bladder muscles could cease to appropriately reach the muscles, or the muscles could develop a condition preventing them from actuating the signals.

Bladder dysfunction has a relatively large prevalence in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).
