The Family Health Service Line at the Aga Khan University Hospital promotes primary health care by offering high quality and cost-effective preventative, curative and rehabilitative services in the country.

Our doctors at the Family Health clinics are highly experienced, trained and certified as family medicine physicians. They are skilled in treating people of all ages from young babies and children to adults and the elderly. They provide personal, compassionate and comprehensive health care during times of sickness as well as in good health, focussing on health promotion and disease prevention. We offer a range of wellness checks for both men and women. Some of these include but are not limited to, family planning; well-baby clinics; immunizations for children and adults; counselling for self-relaxation, stress management and pain management; pre-employment and annual check-ups; medical care for senior corporate executives; 24/7 phone service for corporate executives, 24/7 on-site visit by our physician or nurse; health insurance examinations; pre-immigration medicals; care for the terminally ill; geriatric clinics for the elderly. 

Patients can take advantage of the health packages offered by Family Health that are designed to meet the needs of patients depending on their age, disease status and lifestyle. These <packages> include but are not limited to, the Executive Clinic, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Over 50 years and Pre-Marital Screening. 

Our Family Health doctors can be visited at multiple outpatient locations:

• Community Health Centre (CHC) (at a highly subsidized rate) at the Main Hospital Campus

• Consulting Clinics (CC) and Executive Clinics at the Main Hospital Campus or at Clifton Medical Services

• Consulting Clinics (CC) at one of our four Secondary Hospital (Garden, Karimabad, Kharadar and Hyderabad)

• Outreach Medical Centres including Clifton Medical Services or at one of our Integrated Medical Health Centres (IMS) (IMS at a highly subsidized rate)

• Or our doctors can visit you at your corporate offices, schools and colleges by special arrangement.

Keeping in line with the hospital’s guiding principles of making quality healthcare accessible to all people, our Community Health Centre (CHC) and some Outreach Medical Centres enables patients to see our doctors at highly subsidized rates. 

The Executive Clinics are designed for those patients who lead busy and hectic lives, where time is of essence, and prompt and efficient service is required. Family Health also offers specialized services to Executives who can be seen at their office or home location. In addition, wellness packages can be made available to corporates, schools and colleges.

The Family Medicine doctor is usually the primary and central point person for managing an individual’s health. At the Aga Khan University Hospital, we have multiple specialties under one roof. This enables our Family Health Service Line doctors to work closely with other Specialty Service Lines in the hospital. When necessary, your Family Medicine doctor can refer you to a specific specialized doctor. In turn, this ensures a coordinated and multidisciplinary approach for all our patients.

When to seek expert advise

Ideally a periodic/annual health exam is recommended. How often this needs to be performed will be determined by your age and general health. Other than scheduled visits, you can always visit your doctor at the <Family Health Service Line> at The Aga Khan University Hospital for new complaints.

Furthermore, family doctors can guide you about healthy nutrition and are even available to support you on changing unhealthy habits such as smoking. ​
