Overview

About 1 in 6 couples may experience a delay in achieving a pregnancy. It may not immediately be obvious why this delay is happening and could be due to female or male factors. Common female related factors are lack of ovulation or damage to the fallopian tubes. Sometimes there is a problem with sperm production in the male partner. The fertility specialists are able to conduct bespoke tests and offer appropriate treatment.

Fertility treatment depends on the cause that has been established during investigations. This is usually found to be very specific in individual couples.

Treatment can include:

• Ovulation induction

• Intrauterine insemination

• Assisted reproductive treatment

• In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

• Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

• Frozen embryo replacement

• Fertility preservation in women at risk of pre​mature menopause
