The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is a private, not for profit, university hospital, focusing on the delivery of the highest quality health care in Pakistan for over 30 years since 1985. It also serves as the teaching hospital for the brightest doctors, nurses, and midwives in the country. 

The hospital is part of an emerging health care system which includes Clifton Medical Services (CMS) and smaller hospitals in Garden, Karimabad, Kharadar and Hyderabad. Furthermore the hospital reaches out into Pakistan through its Outreach Services and is offering healthcare and diagnostics through Integrated Medical Services, Phlebotomy Stations and Pharmacies. These s​ervices are expanding into Pakistan to bring health services into the local communities throughout the country.

The Aga Khan University’s aim is to continue to pave the way as the quality standard for all others to aspire to.  The Aga Khan University Hospital is the only teaching hospital in Pakistan that is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCIA); commonly considered the gold standard in health care delivery. The hospital also is ISO accredited for maintaining World Class Quality in Health Standards and is bringing in the latest technological and medical advances along with highly trained staff and physicians​.
