Our highly-qualified team consists of Nephrologists (kidney specialists), Urologists (specialists in bladder, prostate and male reproductive organs) and internationally trained renal surgeons.
The Kidney and Bladder Service Line uses an evidence-based approach and state of the art equipment to give accurate diagnoses and quality treatment. We provide treatment options for a wide range of medical issues, including but not limited to: kidney stones, Acute Kidney Injuries (AKI), Chorinic Kidney Disease (CKD), Kidney Failure, Polycystic Kidney Disease, bladder issues, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Urinary Incontinence, Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), enlarged prostate and male infertility. We also treat various types of kidney and prostate related cancers in collaboration with our Oncology Service Line. These include kidney cancer, bladder cancer, penile cancer and testicular cancer.
We perform a number of specialised nephrology procedures including and not limited to, CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy), Renal Biopsy, Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Interventional Nephrology Procedures (for managing and unblocking Fistula such as, Dialysis Catheter Insertion, Tunneled Catheter Insertion, Venoplasty, Thrombectomy, Accessory Vein Management Stenting, Vein Mapping and Venogram), Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter Insertion, Plasmapheresis, Slow Low Efficient Daily Dialysis (SLEDD) and Slow Continuous Ultrfiltration (SCUF). Other diagnostic and extra corporal urology services, under Office Urology, includes Uroflowmetry, Bladder scanning (Postvoid residual study), Lithotripsy, Urodynamics, and Diagnostic Flexible Cystoscopy. We offer specialized and unique surgical procedures including radical prostatectomy, cystectomy (with ileal loop conduit and/or neobladder formation), implantation of ureters, nephrectomy, ureteroscopy (URS), percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), mini PCNL, transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS), transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT), pelvic floor rehabilitation, TransVaginal Tension Free Tape (TVT), Trans-Obturator-Tape (TOT), microscopic varicocelectomy and related surgries.
Our team includes five full time and two non-full time Nephrologists, nine full time and two non-full time Urologists and a Renal Transplant Surgeon. We have clinics at AKUH Stadium Road Campus, Clifton Medical Services, Aga Khan Hospital for Women Karimabad and Aga Khan Hospital for Women and Children, Kharadar. We offer consultation services in evening hours and on public holidays as well.
