Prevalence of Heart Diseases in Pakistan

Compared to the global population, Pakistanis are on a very high risk of coronary heart diseases. The major risk factors that contribute to this burden are tobacco, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, physical inactivity, stress and unhealthy diet.

In Pakistan, 30 to 40 percent of all deaths are due to cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, heart attack is the number one killer in Pakistan.

As we celebrate the World Heart Month throughout September, we are focused on making people aware how they can prevent heart diseases. And in case of a heart attack, we have a dedicated heart emergency facility, where our team of expert doctors are always busy saving lives.
