Dr Huma Naz

Director, Patient Access and Outpatient Services

Dr Huma Naz is the Director of Patient Access and Outpatient Services at the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH). In this role, she oversees Outpatient Services and Patient Access Services, which together support more than 750,000 outpatient visits and over 3.6 million patient interactions each year.

Under her leadership, Dr Naz is deeply focused on strengthening access to care, improving service quality, supporting operational excellence, and advancing patient-centred approaches across the health system. She is passionate about creating seamless patient experiences through collaboration, continuous improvement, and the thoughtful use of innovation.

An alumna of Aga Khan University's Postgraduate Medical Education Programme, Dr Naz has been a dedicated part of the AKUH health system for more than 20 years. During this time, she has held a wide range of leadership roles across medical centres, community hospitals, maternal and child health programmes, multidisciplinary outpatient services, surgical services, intensive care, diagnostic and therapeutic services, and broader clinical operations.

Dr Naz holds an MBBS from Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi, where she graduated with distinctions in four subjects. She also earned an FCPS in General Medicine and a Master's in Health and Hospital Management from the Institute of Business Management, Karachi.

Underscoring her commitment to clinical and operational quality, she is a Six Sigma Green Belt, a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, and a Certified CITI professional. Additionally, she has served as an Assessor for the Prime Minister Quality Award.

Dr Naz remains steadfast in her commitment to supporting high-quality, patient-centred care while actively contributing to the continued growth and excellence of AKUH.
