What Is Lasik?

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR LASER TREATMENT?

The evaluation includes:
Corneal scan
Comprehensive eye examination after pupil dilation
Important instructions:
Usual recovery time is about one week
Your doctor will advise when you can resume daily activities
You may be asked to stop using contact lenses a few weeks before surgery
On the day of the procedure, avoid makeup, perfume, or creams
Arrange someone to accompany you or drive you home
POST-TREATMENT CARE
After surgery:
A protective eye shield may be placed
Eye drops and/or oral medications will be prescribed for a specific duration
Follow-up visits are usually scheduled the next day, then over the following weeks and months
LASIK is considered one of the safest surgical procedures in medicine, with a very low risk of mild complications (approximately 1%).
