Acute Appendicitis

Book Appointment

Acute appendicitis is a sudden inflammation of the appendix, a small organ attached to the large intestine.

It usually begins with pain around the belly button that gradually moves to the lower right side of the abdomen. Without prompt treatment, the appendix can burst (perforate), leading to a serious infection inside the abdomen that requires emergency treatment.
