Acute Poisoning

Book Appointment

Acute poisoning occurs when a harmful substance enters the body over a short period of time. This may happen by swallowing, breathing in, injecting, or absorbing a poisonous substance through the skin or eyes.

Poisoning can be accidental, such as when a child swallows medicine, or intentional. While some cases are mild, others can be life-threatening and require immediate medical treatment.
