Drug Allergy
Book AppointmentA drug allergy occurs when the body's immune system mistakenly identifies a medicine as harmful and triggers an allergic reaction. Symptoms may include skin rashes, swelling and, in severe cases, difficulty breathing. Severe allergic reactions can be life-threatening and require immediate medical attention.
Symptoms may improve after the medicine is stopped, but some reactions can persist or worsen over the following days. Do not stop or change prescribed medication without consulting your doctor, unless you suspect a severe allergic reaction, in which case seek emergency medical care immediately.
