Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS)
Book AppointmentLower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) are a group of urinary symptoms that affect how the bladder stores and empties urine. LUTS may result from problems affecting the bladder, urethra, pelvic floor muscles, or nearby pelvic organs.
LUTS are common in women of all ages but become more frequent after childbirth and menopause. They can interfere with daily activities and are often mistaken for urinary tract infections (UTIs) or other pelvic conditions.
Common symptoms include frequent urination, urgency, urine leakage, a weak urine stream, and the feeling that the bladder has not emptied completely. Early screening can help identify the underlying cause and improve quality of life.
