Melasma
Book AppointmentMelasma is a common skin condition that causes brown or greyish patches to appear on the face, especially on the cheeks, forehead, nose, and upper lip. It occurs when the skin produces too much melanin, the pigment that gives skin its colour.
Melasma is commonly triggered by sun exposure and hormonal changes, and the patches often become darker after exposure to sunlight. Although melasma is harmless, it can be persistent and may recur, particularly with continued sun exposure.
