Non-Allergic Rhinitis

Book Appointment

Non-allergic rhinitis is a condition in which the inside of the nose becomes inflamed or irritated without being caused by an allergy. It can lead to a blocked or runny nose, sneezing and mucus dripping down the back of the throat (post-nasal drip).

Unlike allergic rhinitis (hay fever), which is triggered by allergens such as pollen, dust, or pets, non-allergic rhinitis is caused by other factors, including changes in weather, strong smells, smoke, spicy foods, hormonal changes, or certain medicines. In some people, no specific cause can be identified.

The condition can affect both children and adults and is often long-term, but it can usually be managed with lifestyle changes and appropriate treatment.
