Children’s Oncology-Haematology Party 2017

The Aga Khan University Hospital invited children who have or are battling cancer to an annual party held just for them. 

The party is used as a platform, to encourage the brave children and offer support to their parents and families as they go through this difficult journey.  It’s a lively and popular event as it provides them with an escape from the ordeal of coping and dealing with cancer. 

In line with this years’ theme ‘Enjoy the Colours of Life’, the party area was lit up with many balloons of different bright colours, creating an energetic and uplifting ambience. The Zumba session, clowns, magic show, puppet show, sand art, rides and face painting kept the children happily entertained. Parents and families visited the various stalls set up by the hospital to provide information and an opportunity to speak with our doctors, nurses, radiologists, physiotherapists, pharmacists and dieticians in dealing with this difficult disease.  The winners of the poster competition were announced and prizes awarded. 

Dr. Zehra Fadoo, Dr. Sadaf Altaf, Dr. Naureen Mushtaq and their teams mingled with the children and families, appreciating them and letting them know just how special they all are. The children were applauded and left with gift bags in hand and smiles on their face.
