Facebook Live Session with Children's Hospital

The Aga Khan University Hospital organized a Facebook Live Session with its Children's Hospital on Wednesday, 29 November 2017. Parents of young children and adolescents were invited to share their questions about their children's health matters and have them answered live on Facebook by a team of child health specialists.

The one hour Facebook Live Session, drew in over 21,000 unique video views and was shared by over 325 people. Parents who were eager to ask questions started sending in their queries from the time of the initial promotions and over 80 questions were received before the session started. During the session and after, another 200 queries were inboxed, and 695 people commented on the posts.

The questions asked ranged from common problems such as bedwetting and height/weight to more complicated issues such as Type 1 Diabetes and Patent Ductus Arterious (PDA). Dr. Kirmani moderated the session and guided the right question to the right specialist.

Overall, the session helped AKUH deliver some more on its guiding principle of making quality healthcare accessible by making some of our top faculty available to answer people's questions about their child's health. Patient comments on the video, as well as their likes showed that they found the session very helpful, and were excited to see similar sessions in the future.
