World Hand Hygiene Day Celebration at AKMCCC

Ever year, "Hand Hygiene day" is celebrated on May 5^th, to create awareness and emphasize the importance of Hand Hygiene. The AKMCCC Infection Control Committee organized 'World Hand Hygiene Day' celebrations by planning various activities including a poster competition between departments, videos to educate visitors and hand hygiene games.

The staff at the AKMCCC created awareness and educated the patients and visitors about the importance of hand hygiene. This was done through distribution of quotes and pamphlets containing hand hygiene slogans. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Dr. Sarwat, Chair of Infection Control Committee, said, "The single most important measure in reducing morbidity and mortality among patients is Hand Hygiene."

​The activities planned for the day helped in creating awareness and reminding the staff and visitors about the importance of hand hygiene.
