The Section of Otolaryngology (ENT Surgery) at The Aga Khan University Hospital provides comprehensive surgical and medical management of disorders affecting the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck across all age groups.
The Section manages a broad range of conditions, including ear and hearing disorders, sinus and nasal disease, voice and airway disorders, balance disorders, and head and neck tumours. Surgical services span routine procedures such as tonsillectomy and ear tube insertion to complex oncologic and reconstructive surgeries.
Given the anatomical and functional overlap within the head and neck region, care is often multidisciplinary. The Section collaborates closely with oncology, neurosurgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, pulmonology, gastroenterology, radiology, and speech and rehabilitation services to ensure coordinated management of complex cases.
Subspecialty expertise within the Section includes rhinology, laryngology, otology and neurotology, head and neck oncology, and facial reconstructive surgery.
As part of a quaternary-care academic medical centre, the Section contributes to clinical education and research while maintaining high standards of surgical safety and governance.
