The Section of Paediatric Surgery at The Aga Khan University Hospital provides specialised surgical care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents.
The Section manages a broad range of congenital and acquired conditions requiring surgical intervention. These include neonatal surgical disorders, gastrointestinal anomalies, paediatric tumours, urological conditions, trauma, and other complex paediatric surgical diseases.
Children present unique anatomical and physiological considerations that require specialised training and perioperative care. Surgical management is delivered within a multidisciplinary framework in close coordination with neonatology, paediatrics, anaesthesia, critical care, radiology, oncology, and rehabilitation services.
As part of a quaternary-care academic medical centre, the Section maintains rigorous standards of surgical safety while contributing to training and research in paediatric surgical practice.
