The Section of Cardiology at The Aga Khan University Hospital provides comprehensive cardiovascular care within a quaternary-care academic medical centre. We manage a full spectrum of heart diseases, from preventive cardiology and chronic cardiac conditions to complex interventional and structural heart procedures.
Our service is supported by a dedicated Cardio-Pulmonary Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, and advanced Catheterisation Laboratory. Patients requiring critical care are managed in specialised intensive care settings with multidisciplinary oversight.
The Section offers:
Diagnostic and non-invasive cardiac evaluation
Advanced interventional cardiology, including complex coronary and structural procedures
Electrophysiology services for arrhythmia management and device implantation
Multimodality cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, and nuclear cardiology
Specialised clinics, including cardio-obstetrics and device follow-up services
As part of an integrated health system, cardiology care is closely coordinated with internal medicine subspecialties, cardiothoracic surgery, nephrology, endocrinology, and pulmonary and critical care teams. This ensures comprehensive management of patients with complex comorbidities.
