The Division of Nursing Services provides comprehensive nursing care across the continuum of care, supporting patients and families at every stage of their healthcare journey. Our nurses work in partnership with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver evidence-based, person-centred care in a safe, compassionate, and healing environment.

Nursing care is provided across the Main Campus, off-campus hospitals, outreach locations, and home healthcare services. From patient assessment to education, discharge planning, and ongoing support, our nurses empower patients and families to actively participate in care decisions and navigate their healthcare experience with confidence.

Our nursing teams deliver care across a wide range of clinical settings, including inpatient units, critical and speciality care areas, operating theatres, emergency services, outpatient clinics, and other specialised healthcare environments.

The Centre for Nursing Education and Continuing Professional Development (CNECPD) supports the continuous growth and development of nurses and healthcare professionals across the AKUH Health System. Through clinical education, speciality and advanced practice programmes, simulation-based learning, mentorship, leadership development, and continuing professional development opportunities, CNECPD helps ensure a highly skilled workforce prepared to meet evolving healthcare needs.

Working closely with the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM), Aga Khan University, and other healthcare partners, Nursing Services contributes to strengthening nursing practice and developing a competent, practice-ready workforce. These collaborations foster a culture of lifelong learning, innovation, and continuous improvement that enhances the quality and safety of patient care.

Through the Office of Clinical Nursing Practice and Innovation (OCNPI), nursing teams advance clinical practice by integrating evidence-based care, research, innovation, quality improvement initiatives, and meaningful patient and family engagement. By translating best practices into everyday care, we strive to improve patient experiences and achieve the best possible health outcomes.

The Nursing Operations Office (NOO) supports safe and effective care delivery by ensuring appropriate workforce planning, staffing, resource allocation, and operational readiness across the health system.

The Bed Management Office (BMO) coordinates admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient flow, helping ensure that patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
