Nutrition and Food Services Department

The Nutrition and Food Services Department (NFSD) provides nutrition and food services for patients and their attendants, as well as students, faculty and staff across The Aga Khan University Hospital, Clifton Medical Services and its off-campus hospitals. The Department brings together clinical nutrition, dietetics and food service expertise to support the nutritional needs of patients and the wider hospital community.

For patients, experienced clinical nutritionists and dietitians work closely with the medical and nursing teams to assess nutritional needs and provide appropriate dietary guidance. Patient meals are planned according to individual health conditions and dietary requirements, with nutritionists working alongside food service professionals and chefs to ensure meals are nutritious and suitable for patients' needs.

The Department also manages patient meal services, food production and food safety, maintaining processes to support the quality and safety of food served across the Hospital. Approximately 13,000–15,000 meals are served each day across patient and other food services.

Cafeteria and food services are available across the Main Campus, Clifton Medical Services and AKUH’s off-campus hospitals, providing dining options for patients’ attendants, staff, students and visitors.
