Overview
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) is a specialised dialysis treatment that continuously removes waste products and extra fluid from a child's blood when their kidneys are no longer working properly. How CRRT Works
A thin tube (catheter) is placed in a large vein. Blood is slowly drawn out of the body through this catheter.
The blood passes through a special filter that removes waste products and extra fluid.
The cleaned blood is then returned to the child's body through another catheter.
