Your health information is accessed by members of your care team as needed to provide and coordinate your care. It is not disclosed to others without your permission, except where required or permitted by law.

Your Medical Team

A team of doctors, nurses, residents, allied health and administrative professionals will work together to care for you throughout your hospital stay. Your doctors and nurses will see you during daily rounds, and doctors in training may also be part of the team. Our staff work in shifts, so you may see different members of your care team during your stay. At each shift change, your care team shares relevant information about your condition and treatment to support safe, coordinated and uninterrupted care. All staff members are required to wear identification badges while on duty. You can check the name, job title and photograph on the badge. If you have questions about a member of your care team, you can ask them to show you their badge or speak to your nurse.

Infection Prevention and Control

Infection prevention and control measures help reduce the spread of infections and protect patients, families, attendants, visitors and staff. Patients may be more vulnerable to infections during their hospital stay, particularly when their immune system is weakened. Depending on their condition, some patients may need to be cared for separately from others to reduce the risk of spreading an infection. Please follow the infection prevention and control guidance provided by your care team, including any precautions or restrictions on visiting.

Keeping Your Room and Ward Clean

Our housekeeping teams clean patient rooms and wards and change bed linen as needed to maintain a clean and hygienic environment. Please allow housekeeping staff to carry out these services. If you need cleaning due to a spill or other need, please inform the ward staff. Please place rubbish in the bins provided and help us maintain a clean environment.

Visitors and Attendants

Family members, attendants and visitors are welcome during your hospital stay. To support your care, privacy and safety, please follow these guidelines: Attendants: One family member or attendant may stay with the patient at a time, unless otherwise permitted by the nurse in-charge. Attendants may be asked to leave the area during medical or nursing visits and housekeeping. Visitors: Patients may have a maximum of two visitors at a time. Please follow the designated visiting hours to allow patients to rest and care teams to provide care without interruption. Note for B2 Ward: To maintain the privacy and dignity of female patients admitted to the B2 Ward, husbands and male attendants are permitted during visiting hours only. If you are unwell: Please do not visit if you have an infection, fever, diarrhoea, cold, cough or other symptoms of illness. Children: Children under 12 years of age are not permitted to visit patients. Patients who are able to walk or use a wheelchair may visit children in designated hospital courtyards, accompanied by a family member or attendant. Hand hygiene: Clean your hands when entering or leaving the ward, before and after eating, and after using the toilet. Hand sanitiser dispensers are available at ward entrances and within the wards. Patient beds: Please do not sit on the patient's bed, as this can increase the risk of infection. Hospital Meals

Hospital meals are planned to meet your nutritional and dietary needs during your stay. Our dietitians work closely with the Nutrition and Food Services team to ensure that meals are appropriate for your health condition and dietary requirements. Food items provided during your stay are charged to your final bill.

Question 8

Spending Time Outdoors

Patients may leave the ward to spend time in designated garden areas and courtyards within the Hospital grounds, with their doctor’s approval and accompanied by a family member or attendant. Please inform the nurse in-charge before leaving the ward. Wheelchairs are available from the nursing staff on request.

Pharmacy Services

Pharmacy services for admitted patients are available 24/7. Medicines prescribed by your doctor are dispensed by our pharmacies and delivered to your ward. Your nurse will ensure that you receive your medicines as prescribed. All medicines supplied by the Hospital are procured from authorised sources.
