Accommodation to Suit Your Care Needs
The Aga Khan University Hospital offers a range of patient accommodations to meet different care needs and preferences, from General Wards and Semi-Private Rooms to Private Rooms and Suites. Patients who require closer monitoring and a higher level of clinical support are cared for in our Special Care and Intensive Care Units.
Regardless of the type of accommodation, patients receive the same high standards of clinical care from our multidisciplinary teams. The accommodation available to you will depend on your clinical needs, the type of care required, as well as availability.
General Ward
General Wards provide shared accommodation for patients who require hospital-based care and an overnight stay. Patients have access to essential facilities and are cared for by our nursing and medical teams throughout their stay.
Semi-Private Rooms
Semi-Private Rooms provide accommodation for patients in a shared room, offering a more private setting than a General Ward. Each patient has their own bed and access to essential attendant facilities, with a private bathroom within the room. Patients are cared for by our medical and nursing teams throughout their stay.
Private Rooms
Private Rooms provide patients with their own room and greater privacy and personal space during their hospital stay. Each room includes a private bathroom, hospital bed, comfortable seating, and storage, along with essential clinical facilities and amenities.
Private Rooms are available in both the Private Wing and the Princess Zahra Pavilion.
Princess Zahra Pavilion
The Princess Zahra Pavilion (PZP) offers a private inpatient environment designed with comfort, privacy and convenience in mind. In addition to Private Rooms, the Pavilion offers Private Suites, Special Care Rooms and Isolation Rooms.
Private Rooms
PZP Private Rooms provide patients with their own room and private bathroom, along with a hospital bed, comfortable seating, a sofa bed for an attendant, storage and essential clinical facilities. Bedside controls allow patients to adjust the room temperature, lighting, and curtains for their convenience.
Private Suites
Private Suites offer additional space and privacy, with a separate adjoining room for family members and visitors. In addition to the facilities available in Private Rooms, suites include additional seating, a dining table, television and a separate washroom.
Special Care and Isolation Rooms
PZP also has Special Care Rooms and Isolation Rooms for patients who require these specific care arrangements. These rooms provide the appropriate clinical environment and facilities to support patients during their stay.
The Pavilion's architecture and landscaped spaces create a calm environment for patients and families.
Specialised Care
Some patients require closer monitoring or a higher level of clinical support during their hospital stay. Specialised Care Beds include beds in Special Care and Intensive Care Units for patients with more complex or acute health needs.
These units are supported by specialised medical and nursing teams, advanced monitoring equipment and the clinical resources required to care for patients who need a higher level of observation and support.
