Aga Khan University Hospital celebrates its employees

<p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">​Aga Khan University Hospital held their annual Huduma Bora Awards recently at the hospitals&#39; Lecture Theatre to celebrate long-serving and exemplary performing staff.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">The event was presided over by the university and hospital senior leadership and management teams including <span style="font-size: 11pt;">Dr Majid Twahir, Associate Dean, Clinical
Affairs and Chief of Staff, Mr Shekar Iyer, Chief Operations
Officer, Mr Aleem Merali, Chief Finance Officer, Ms Agnes Kamau, Director, Human Resources at Aga Khan University Hospital, Dr
Kweku Bentil, Vice Provost and Mr Michael Meyer, Dean, Graduate School of Media and Communications, Aga Khan University</span> among others.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">A total of 99 long serving, 5 retired  and 6 exemplary perfoming staff <span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; line-height: 20.9524px;"><span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; line-height: 20.9524px;">were feted in various categories including <span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; line-height: 20.9524px;">clinical, non-clinical, <span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; line-height: 20.9524px;"><span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; line-height: 20.9524px;">outreach, <span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; line-height: 20.9524px;"><span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; line-height: 20.9524px;">Provost Office</span></span>, Postgraduate Medical Education, School of Nursing and Midwifery and Graduate School of Media and Communications</span></span>.
</span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">The overall best award went to Ms Janet Mwandaa, a Laboratory Technologist-Haematology Section
 at the hospital for her efforts in championing the
hospital’s adoption of SAGM, a standard additive solution used to
preserve blood from the initial 35 days to the current 42 days.
