Outpatient Medical Centres
Aga Khan University Hospital believes that quality healthcare services should be available closer to where people live and work. Towards this, we have established a Network of 53 outreach medical centres spread across Kenya (49) and Uganda (4). In these clinics, we provide primary and secondary care. To increase access to specialised care, we run over 250 specialist clinics with cardiologists, nephrologists, neurologists, nutritionists, family physicians, paeditricians, gynecologists, ENT specialists, surgeons among others.
Quality of care is central to what we do and we benchmark our care with the global best practices. In line with this, ten of our outreach medical centres have received SafeCare certification, in recognition of adherence to the highest standards of care.
SafeCare standards are divided into 13 different categories with over 650 standards, covering the full range of medical to non-medical aspects of care, Accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care External Evaluation Association (ISQuaEEA). The rest of the centres are at different stages of certification. Read more here
