Allergy clinic services

Allergic conditions are common in childhood and affected children usually have more than one allergic condition. These conditions include;

  • Atopic Eczema
  • Food Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Hives
  • Angioedema – Swelling Of The Body Caused By Allergic Reactions
  • Allergic Rhinitis
  • Allergic Conjunctivitis
  • Drug allergies
The Paediatric Allergy Clinic is run by a Paediatric Allergollogist.  The clinic offers integrated management of the different allergic conditions present in an affected child. Allergy testing either in the patients’ blood or skin is available and is guided by the clinical condition and the likely causative factor identified in the clinical history.

Allergy education is a vital part of the consultation as most allergies are chronic and avoidance of identified triggers and proper use of medications is the mainstay of  management .
