Childbirth education classes
At Aga Khan University Hospital Nairobi we appreciate that preparing for childbirth may be associated with anxiety and even helplessness. Our childbirth education classes will empower you with information about the process of labor, management of pain, emotional issues during labor, postpartum period, and the early weeks of motherhood. These are conducted in two ways
Group talks: these are interactive talks addressing the most frequent concerns in pregnancy. They are conducted at announced times at the antenatal clinic to the audience of clients coming for antenatal visit that day. They are free of charge.
Small group Lamaze classes: these are offered during the 3rd trimester to clients and their support persons. We enroll clients in small groups which are then taken through a practical course on childbirth preparation
