Developmental paediatrics is a sub-specialty providing holistic care to children and youth with special needs and their families.
Our services involve habilitation and rehabilitation of developmental disorders such global developmental delay, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, down syndrome, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, visual/hearing impairments, acquired brain injury rehabilitation and genetic disorders affecting development. Pharmacotherapy for conditions related to developmental disorders such as Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD) and physical disabilities. Administering and interpreting neuro-developmental assessment tools and questionnaires. Management of learning disabilities, language disorders, behaviour difficulties, sleep problems, feeding and swallowing difficulties, tone management and assistive technology.
The services are provided in collaboration with other disciplines such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, behaviour analysts,speech therapists, orthotists, clinical psychologists, nutritionists and medical social workers.
