Blood Donation Drive and Awareness Session 2018

 
<p>Clinical Laboratory and Blood Transfusion Services at the Aga Khan University Hospital on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2018 organised a Blood Donation Drive at the main hospital campus blood bank. 116 people came forward and donated blood. </p><p>
The donation drive was followed by an awareness session where Dr. Farheen Karim - Assistant Professor Haematology Department of Pathology &amp; Laboratory Medicine, Aga Khan University Hospital explained to the audience who all can donate blood. The purpose of the session was also to explain to the audience of the benefits of donating blood and how healthy it is for your body as well. Falah’s Club and the Karachi Lions AKUH Blood bank also presented their contributions at the awareness session. </p><p>
A quiz was also arranged where the audience was asked simple questions about blood bonation. These questions are common and mostly people have these questions when donating blood. Questions such as: conditions in which a person can donate blood, how often can you donate blood and diseases because of which a person cannot donate blood was also highlighted.</p>
