<p>The American Heart Association (AHA)-accredited International Training Centre at Nursing Education Services, Aga Khan University Hospital, under the Division of Nursing Services, received prestigious recognition at the AHA MENA Healthcare Forum 2026 in Dubai.</p><p>The recognition acknowledges the ITC team's outstanding performance, adherence to international quality standards, and sustained commitment to delivering excellence in lifesaving training across Pakistan.</p><p>Pakistan currently has 24 AHA-accredited International Training Centres, reflecting the country's growing emphasis on strengthening high-quality resuscitation education and expanding lifesaving capacity. At this year's Forum, only two centres from Pakistan were recognised: The Aga Khan Hospital & Medical College Foundation and the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).
</p><p>This distinction places AKUH among the leading AHA training centres in the country and underscores the rigour, consistency, and impact of its programmes.</p><p>Through its AHA International Training Centre, AKUH delivers internationally accredited training programmes in:</p><ul><li>Basic Life Support (BLS)</li><li>Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)</li><li>Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
</li></ul><p>All trainings are conducted in alignment with the latest evidence-based guidelines and international best practices. The programmes equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge, practical skills, and clinical confidence required to respond effectively to cardiac arrest and other life-threatening emergencies.</p><p>The award was received on behalf of the institution by Ms Amina Lakhani, Senior Nurse Manager, Nursing Education Services, and Ms Nasreen Alwani, Nurse Specialist and AHA Training Centre Faculty (BLS, ACLS) and PALS Instructor.</p><p>This achievement reflects the strength of Nursing Services at AKUH, where continuous learning, professional development, multidisciplinary collaboration, and a strong culture of patient safety remain central to clinical practice. Through robust training programmes and educational leadership, AKUH continues to advance clinical excellence and improve patient outcomes, reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare nationally and across the region.
