Section of Internal Medicine
The Section of Internal Medicine under the Department of Medicine at The Aga Khan University Hospital is comprised of a highly trained and experienced Internal Medicine team.
A doctor specialized in Internal Medicine, called an internist, is trained to give comprehensive care in complex chronic conditions in adult patients, in both outpatient and inpatient setting. Patients with comorbidities are often under the care of internists. For example, someone suffering from heart disease, hypertension, diabetes and obesity – conditions that are often seen together - will benefit from being under the care of an internist for overall health management.
