Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences
The Department of Ophthalmology at the Aga Khan University Hospital is comprised of a dedicated group of highly trained eye doctors and surgeons, nurses, and technicians.
Most of our eye doctors (ophthalmologists) are foreign-trained surgeons and work closely with a team of specialized nurses and technicians to offer comprehensive patient treatment plans for both adults and children with vision problems and eye disorders. These include but are not limited to cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery, retinal detachment surgery, glaucoma surgery, facial reconstruction, cosmetic surgery, squint surgery, orbital reconstruction, and refractive surgery. Most of these services are delivered through outpatient consulting clinics and/ or daycare surgery, although there may be exceptions where patients have to be admitted and stay overnight.
