Section of Dental Surgery

The Section of Dental Surgery, under the Department of Surgery offers surgeries and procedures of the face, mouth and jaw to restore function and enhance cosmetics. These are done to treat dental and oral problems including acute and chronic dental problems, congenital conditions, oral diseases, deformities, and for cosmetic enhancements. Dental procedures are predominantly carried out in an outpatient setting; however, patients may be treated under general anaesthesia in operating rooms for surgically complex cases. 

Procedures offered by the Section of Dentistry include, but are not limited to, oral prophylaxis, fillings, root canal treatments, veneers and crowns, dental implants, comprehensive orthodontic treatment, fillings, extractions, soft and hard tissue grafts, periodontal surgery, corrective jaw surgery, maxillofacial prosthesis, etc. The Section strongly focuses on a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and brings all aspects of dentistry under one roof.  It has a state-of-the-art radiology service that allows clinicians to perform various radiographic investigations, including cone beam computed tomography.  Our maxillofacial surgeons in the Section of Dental Surgery work hand in hand with other specialties in treating diverse oral pathologies and trauma management. ​
