At AKUH, we understand the critical role parents play in shaping their child's future, particularly during the formative early years. As one of the few initiatives in Pakistan providing early childhood parenting education and caregiving support within a hospital setting, our programme is designed to equip parents with the resources, knowledge, and skills necessary to foster their child's holis​tic growth and robust development.​

  • Antenatal early childhood education: Prepare for your role as a parent during pregnancy.
  • Newborn responsive caregiving skills: Understand and respond to your baby's needs.
  • Parenting education: Training for effective caregiving of children aged 0–8 years.
  • Father inclusion: Dedicated sessions to encourage active involvement of fathers in childcare.
  • Home care: Expert advice on creating a nurturing home environment for infants and toddlers.
  • School readiness support: Guidance to prepare children for a smooth transition to school.
  • Emotional support: Counselling to help parents manage the emotional demands of caregiving.

  • Antenatal parenting education
    • Outpatient consultation clinics: Personalised consultations for parents-to-be.
  • Postnatal and early childhood development (ECD) parenting education
    • Inpatient newborn education: Hands-on guidance for new parents in the hospital setting.
    • Tele-parenting sessions: Interactive online sessions via Zoom for accessible support.
  • Parenting counselling for early childhood development (ages 0–8)
    • Outpatient consulting clinics: Individualised counselling to address parenting challenges.
    • Tele-parenting sessions: Convenient virtual sessions to support parents.
