AKUH Doctors Answer Questions Live on Facebook on Kidney and Bladder Issues

 
<p>The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) held an interactive Facebook LIVE session on Kidney and Bladder diseases and complications where doctors answered questions posed by patients on these issues. </p><p>The session was hosted by AKUH&#39;s expert panel of doctors which included:</p><p>Dr. Hammad Ather, Professor &amp; Section Head of Urology</p><p>Dr. Nuzhat Faruqui, Assistant Professor, Urology </p><p>Dr. Rabeea Azmat, Senior Instructor, Nephrology</p><p>Dr. Sonia Yaqub, Assistant Professor, Medicine</p><p>Dr. Raziuddin Biyabani, Associate Professor, Surgery</p><p>The 60 minute session covered various aspects such as the rise of <a href="/pakistan/Pages/look-up-diseases.aspx">kidney problems</a>​ in Pakistan, kidney transplant, and cancers related to kidney and bladder. The session further covered different procedures and treatments, the use of latest procedures for the removal of kidney stones that are minimally invasive. </p><p>The session provided a chance for a the audience viewing the session Live on Facebook to ask questions and discuss conditions related to the subject. The questions were then addressed by the experts. </p><p>The session highlighted welfare services offered by AKUH and how deserving patients could benefit from the program. It also covered different factors that impacted a healthy kidney such as age, use of medication and diabetes.</p><p>Doctors gave tips to patients on dietary changes, early diagnosis of kidney problems, precautionary measures, exercises, and balanced eating and sleeping routine. Prevention and early detection were also discussed to prevent complications. </p>
