International Nurses and Midwives Day Celebrations at Secondary Hospitals

 
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong></strong></p><p style="text-align: center;"><strong>International Nurses&#39; and Midwives&#39; Day Celebrations at AKUH Secondary Hospitals</strong></p><p>Globally, Midwives day and Nurses day are celebrated to commemorate the work and contribution of nurses and midwives towards the health of the patients. This year &quot;Midwives leading the way with quality care&quot; was the theme for Midwives day and for Nurses day theme was &quot;A voice to lead – Health is a Human Right&quot;.  </p><p><a href="/pakistan/Karimabad/Pages/default.aspx">The Aga Khan Hospital for Women, Karimabad</a> and <a href="/pakistan/Karimabad/Pages/default.aspx">AKMCCC, Hyderabad</a> celebrated International Nursing and Midwives Day with great enthusiasm to recognize the efforts of nurses and midwives for their work. </p><p>The secondary hospitals organized workshops to increase conducted to increase the awareness on patient safety and quality standards. In which the strategies for non-punitive culture while reporting patient safety issues was also discussed.</p><p>An event &quot;Raise Your Voice for Patient Safety&quot; at AKMCCC, Hyderabad was organized on May 8, 2018 from 10am to 1pm. The objective of the event was to spread awareness in Health Care Professionals about patient safety culture to discuss strategies for developing non-punitive culture while reporting patient safety issues and to identify the patient safety issues at health care settings and develop non-punitive culture for reporting incidents and safety concerns.  The event was attended by Nurses, Midwives, Physicians and other health care professionals. </p><p>​The workshop was conducted by Mr. Kashif Jassani, Administrator at AKMCCC, Hyderabad who has more than 15 years of experience in Hospital Administration, Health care Quality, Patient Safety, and International Quality Certifications and is a Master&#39;s degree in International Relations and Master&#39;s degree in Economics. His major achievements included &quot;Gold Award Winner&quot; at Asian Hospital Management Awards, 2014, Cebu city, Philippine &amp; &quot;Excellence Award Winner for &quot;Quality, Safety &amp; Patient Centered Care&quot; at 2015 World Hospital Congress at Chicago, USA.</p><p>Mr. Kashif Jassani was accompanied by Ms. Ambreen Memon as co-facilitator who works as a Quality and patient Safety Officer at AKMCCC, Hyderabad. </p><p>While at Aga Khan Hospital for Women, Karimabad a similar workshop was organized by the name of &quot;CARE WITH HEART&quot; on May 7, 2018 from 2pm to 5pm. The event was conducted by:</p><p>1. Mr. Kashif Karim, Assistant Manager, Karimabad Hospital </p><p>2. Ms. Ambreen Memon as co-facilitator, Head Nurse, Karimabad Hospital </p><p>3. Dr. Sidrah Nausheen, Department Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Kharadar hospital  </p><p>A comprehensive presentation was delivered along with the group activity which was performed in order to find out patient safety issues and risks in their health settings and discussed the strategies to mitigate those. The workshops proved resourceful for all the attendees and helped address many areas that enhance service quality for patients and caregivers alike.</p>
