Special Care Unit Launched for patients with Bone and Joint Problems

 
<div>At the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), we provide care to our patients for all their bone and joint problems. From diagnosis, treatment, surgery, post-operative care, follow-up appointments to rehabilitation. We care for patients suffering from any bone, joint, ligament, tendon, muscle and nerve diseases, and injuries that cause pain and affect mobility.

</div><div>To enhance the level of care, a new Special Care Unit has been launched for those who may require acute, critical care. The new custom-designed in-patient facility is equipped to provide complete care to all patients. Like most international hospitals that have multiple special care units for various specialties to assist the treatment plan, this facility at AKUH, K, will serve as intermediary care to post-operative patients needing round the clock monitoring. The facility is fully equipped with trained staff available to monitor and treat the patients requiring acute care.</div><div>
</div><div>The launch event, on August 21st, 2020, was attended by the leadership of AKUH, including Shagufta Hassan, Interim CEO, AKUH, K, Dr. Asim Belgaumi CMO, AKUH, K, Dr. Shahryar Noordin, Service Line Chief, Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine and Associate Professor of Surgery and Consultant Orthopaedics Surgeon AKU and Dr. Masood Omer, Associate Professor of Surgery and Section Head Orthopaedics, AKU.</div><div>
