<p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">On Sunday, 22 Janu</span><span style="font-family: helvetica;">ary 2016, The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) hosted an open house, Tomorrow&#39;s Healthcare Today for healthcare professionals to come in and benefit from the networking forum. The event was held at the Centre for Innovation in Medical Education Building (CIME) which is a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose, multi-disciplinary and multi-professional facility for undergraduate, postgraduate and practicing doctors, nurses, dentists and allied health personnel to help them master routine procedures and complex new techniques before they practice on real patients.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">Over the past few years, the AKUH has made significant improvements in delivering quality healthcare. The hospital has been able to stay true to its leadership position in the industry by introducing breakthrough medical technologies and innovative methods that are practiced internationally. Tomorrow&#39;s Healthcare Today was hosted with the objective to offer healthcare professionals the opportunity to learn about these medical techniques as offered by the hospital’s Service Lines, tour CIME&#39;s facility and learn about the advances in medical care and how we can take steps to move forward. The attendees got a chance to understand the AKUH’s philosophy of offering multidisciplinary care under one roof, and how it is an efficient and effective mechanism for accurate diagnosis and timely treatment. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">The programme provided an opportunity for the participating audience to not only benefit from the work and learn about the medical practices observed at the AKUH but also meet other professionals from the industry and share their acumen and knowledge to harness innovative ideas. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">The various medical specialties of the hospital held demonstrations and made presentations on different interesting topics throughout the day. These were arranged separately in rooms and the audience could choose the topic of their interest and attend the hour long sessions by mandatory registration. To disseminate information, the Service Lines handed out brochures highlighting their unique medical offerings. They had also set up stalls with representatives who were more than welcome to answer any queries the audience had. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: helvetica;">The programme was attended by medical professionals of various other universities, hospitals and corporations. Many goverment officials also participated with the agenda to collaborate and benifit from the offerings of the AKUH. Many attendees came all the way from various cities of Sindh interact with the doctors and facult of AKUH. The programme was a huge success and all attendees left great feedback with the anticipation of many such events to be held in future. </span></p>
