Specialized Clinics (Outpatients)

The Breast Clinic run by Gastrointestinal Medicine and Surgery provides evaluation and consultation services to women complaining of changes, lumps or other issues with their breasts. When a patient comes to the Clinic, she is physically examined and appropriately assessed. If the problem is not easily diagnosed, the patient will be asked to undergo investigative procedures e.g. laboratory tests, mammogram and ultrasound and then return for a follow-up visit.

The breast surgeon performs minor surgical procedures and has the capacity to conduct radiological investigations in the clinic. If a patient is found to have a suspicious lesion, the doctors may carry out a biopsy to collect a sample for diagnosis. The clinic also provides surgical care after surgery at the Wound Clinic, where the patient is managed for the wound drain and recovery from stitches and staples.

The breast clinic medical team promotes the importance of regular and timely screening of the breasts to help in early detection of possible medical issues.
