AKUH Celebrates World Quality Day

 
<div>On 11 November 2016, the Quality department at The Aga Khan University Hospital celebrated World Quality Day to recognize all those who have contributed in increasing patient quality, safety and satisfaction every day.</div><div>
</div><div>The Hospital marked the day by announcing the winners of a competition launched within the Hospital in January 2016. Staff were asked to submit projects that showcased efforts made to improve quality and patient safety, this past year. The most promising oral projects were presented to the audience and poster projects displayed, out of which three were selected and awarded in each category by a panel of judges which included 18 professionals from within AKUH and 2 external judges; Dr. Ashar Alam, Associate Director - Medical Services, and Associate Professor, Head of Nephrology, Head of Quality Improvement &amp; Patient Safety, The Indus Hospital and Dr. Iftikhar Uddin, General Manager, Quality Assurance and Clinical Affairs, Memon Medical Institute Hospital.</div><div>
</div><div>Mr. Hans Kedzierski, CEO of The Aga Khan University Hospital appreciated the panel and efforts put in by each participant, advocating this as an important initiative to sustain and improve patient quality, safety and satisfaction every day. </div><div>
</div><div>Patient Satisfaction Surveys are conducted on a daily basis where patients who received our services are surveyed to better understand what their experiences. This data is collected everyday and reported every quarter to help make improvements where necessary. The results for quarter 3 were shared with the audience and the Service Lines which had the highest scores for Patient Satisfaction Survey were acknowledged and rewarded.</div><div>
